Rijeka Crnojevića - Poseljani
Hiking time 3 h
Distance 8 km
Altitude 470 m ↗ 460 m ↘
Perfect hike for winter and springtime. Start your journey in Rijeka Crnojevića, a historic village founded by Ivan Crnojević in the 15th century, close to the border of the former Ottoman Empire.
The trail you follow leads you through the hornbeam forest, around moss-covered trees, hidden springs, and cascading waterfalls to the tiny abandoned village of Mracelji.
A few old houses half-swallowed by ivy, form the small stone nest in between the peaks, some of them still looking welcoming and cozy, as if the people who once lived there had only just left.
The small stone-paved road leads you up to the nearest peak and then almost vanishes in the forest, winding from one viewpoint to another, all of them with the stunning views of the river`s hidden curves.
This trail is more than just a hike—it’s a journey into the past, where nature and history intertwine, creating a space that feels timeless, untouched, and utterly captivating.
